- ประกาศคณะกรรมการสิ่งแวดล้อมแห่งชาติ ฉบับที่ 8 (พ.ศ. 2537) ออกตามความใน พระราชบัญญัติส่งเสริมและรักษาคุณภาพ สิ่งแวดล้อมแห่งชาติ พ.ศ. 2535 เรื่อง กำหนดมาตรฐานคุณภาพน้ำในแหล่งน้ำผิวดิน ตีพิมพ์ในราชกิจจานุเบกษา เล่ม 111 ตอนที่ 16 ง ลงวันที่ 24 กุมภาพันธ์ 2537 กำหนดให้แหล่งน้ำประเภทที่ 4 ต้องมีมาตรฐาน คุณภาพน้ำ อาทิเช่น (1) DO ไม่น้อยกว่า 2 มก./ล. (2) BOD ไม่เกิน 4 มก./ล. (3) NH3N ไม่เกิน 0.5 มก./ล. (4) TCB ไม่เกิน 20,000 MPN/100 มล. (5) FCB ไม่เกิน 4,000 MPN/100 มล. ฯลฯ
